As we continue to investigate major infrastructure projects set to transform Queensland and New South Wales in our Projects in Focus series, we focus on the Three Residential Towers at 108 Lambert Street in Brisbane’s Kangaroo Point. This proposed development is bringing exciting new opportunities for the engineering, architecture, construction and project management and development sectors.
Brisbane’s leading residential and commercial property developer, the Pikos Group, has submitted a revised development application for the construction and development of the three towers at 94-108 Lambert Street and 46 O’Connell Street, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane.
Background of the project
The Three Residential Towers project will offer a world-class residential facility within Brisbane city. The development will feature three 10-story towers with a combined total of 200 1-4 bedroom residential apartments. Each tower will feature a rooftop recreation facility for residents and multiple parking spaces for residents and visitors, as well as for parking for resident and visiting cyclists.
Three Residential Towers has been designed by Brisbane-based international architecture company, Kowalski Architects, whose previous notable projects include designing the $180 million Utopia apartment project in Fortitude Valley. Laud Ink Landscape Architects has designed the development’s landscape plan with features incorporating a shared seating area, a multi-function space and a new street tree planting area.
Located east along the Brisbane River from the CBD, Kangaroo Point’s two major attractions are the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and the Story Bridge. One of the city’s most populated residential zones comprising eight multiple dwellings, the proposed redevelopment plan proposes these dwellings will be demolished to pave way for the three-stage project.
The opportunities in the area
The Three Residential Towers project will create an undeniable opportunity for Brisbane jobs. Sectors likely to benefit most include engineering, architecture, construction; and project management consulting and development. An additional huge economic benefit to Brisbane as a whole will be the expenditure on construction materials.
