In our blogs and articles, we often focus on industry trends, insights, and projects but rarely on ourselves. So, it might interest you to know that October 2020 marked CGC’s 10th anniversary.
As the Managing Director and one of the founders, I wanted to take a moment and enjoy this important milestone as a decade, for any business or person, is important. During that time, we’ve seen many changes to our business, the construction and engineering sectors, the recruitment industry as a whole, and even the way people work. It’s been a fascinating ride with many highs, plus a few lows, along the way.
I am grateful for the partnerships with all our clients and the trust they continue to place in CGC. We take a lot of pride in the fact that to date, we’ve helped over 4,500 people secure new jobs. These individuals have all contributed to the businesses and infrastructure projects, of all shapes and sizes, across NSW and QLD that have driven a buoyant period for the Australian construction and infrastructure sectors.
I am also proud to be part of the recruitment industry. Our resilience, tenacity, and new industry technologies have allowed our clients to grow and develop into industry-leading brands through the talent they’ve hired. The rise of these professional mid-sized Australian businesses has contributed to raising the standards of service and improve the external perception of the industry.
Recruitment is, of course, a people business, and we’ve developed lasting relationships with over 33,000 businesses and 150,000 candidates over our first 10 years in business.
Finally, I would like to thank the 62 CGC employees who have contributed to our success over the last 10 years. From our first recruit, Dave Hope, who is now a Director and manages our Queensland operations, to our latest recruits and everyone between, it’s been a personal highlight to watch the team develop. From growing careers, to travel, relocation, weddings, and starting families we’ve achieved so much.
The rollercoaster ride of recruitment is part of the allure of the industry, but it is the partnerships and friendships developed along the way which provide a sense of security and purpose that makes it all worthwhile.
