April 2013 Newsletter
Another quarter is over and the final straight of the financial year is upon us, time flies!
April has seen a number of exciting events at CGC HQ with another new team member, a team night out and a ‘Dally M’ worthy catch by one of the team.
Firstly, we would like to welcome Steve Morris to our design team (picture below). Steve joins us from the UK with over 5 years recruitment experience. Steve will be focusing within the civil, structural and building services market and will be servicing our clients’ needs for interim and contract appointments. If you are looking for contract opportunities in these areas or you are a client looking for contract staff please click on the following link to contact Steve Morris.
Secondly, to see off another quarter the team night out constituted a visit to one of the NRL’s best grounds in Leichardt Oval. After a ferry ride into Balmain and a tour of the local hotels and drinking establishments (obviously just to avoid the rain) the CGC team made their way to ‘The Hill’ at Leichardt oval. Situated just behind the posts the team were fortunate enough to witness the stand out play by the Tigers (they defeated the Eels 31-18) and also one of the best catches ever seen at Leichardt oval. After a ‘straight as an arrow’ penalty by West Tigers playmaker Benji Marshall and with the ball heading out into the next suburb, who was to step up from between the posts to take a clean catch but CGC’s own Kenny Coleman. Kenny outjumped a crowded terrace and made the mark. He was later seen being asked his availability to sign for the Eels but due to him having already worked in Parramatta previously he kindly declined the offer. See the game from Ken’s point of view below:
In relation to the job market, despite an increase in unemployment levels recently we are still witnessing a high demand especially across the major projects and niche areas. As a business we have seen an increase demand for our services in the Perth market in particular as well as a lot of positivity in the NSW Infrastructure market which we believe will equate in some fantastic opportunities in the next six months. Please see our Jan – March newsletters for further details of the projects
As well as the larger corporates, we are seeing a high level of recruitment activity with the SME’s on the design market (civil/structural) and services, as well as the 2nd tier builders.
If you are looking to discuss opportunities in the current market then please contact one of our dedicated consultants who are happy to assist.
We will have a special announcement in the coming weeks before our next newsletter so watch this space!
