Read moreDuring the month of April not only have we been busy recruiting for our client base we have also managed to recruit the specialist services of Billy Versey – Principal Recruitment Consultant.
Billy has 8 years recruitment experience working in the Australia and UK construction industry. Billy will be focusing within the building sector and will be servicing our clients’ needs for interim and contract appointments. If you are looking for contract opportunities in these areas or you are a client looking for contract staff please click on the following link to contact Billy Versey.
Billy’s appointment has followed the recent employment of another specialist contract recruiter Steve Morris (announced in March newsletter). The focus by CGC Recruitment on contract and temporary business follows a trend and continuous demand from our clients for temporary hires to cover major projects and assist with peaks in work. CGC are able to supply specialist construction and engineering staff at short notice no matter what the duration of appointment.
CGC are in constant dialogue with their clients and candidates and can now offer both permanent and temporary solutions.
An industry report this month found the multi-residential construction market was still the biggest in Australia, with a 2013/2014 project pipeline worth $8.3 billion almost recouping the shortfall experienced in 2012/2013.
CGC believe it’s the eastern states that dominate this traditionally population-based market – the biggest growth moving into the next financial year accruing to recent reports is in the NSW and the ACT market.
We are seeing hospitality projects leading the commercial sector, and it’s anticipated that with almost every state will be bound to a significant rise of project starts in 2013/2014.
We continue to see growth in aged care construction. David Hope, Principal Consultant for the Building sector recently spent two days onsite in Brisbane meeting with clients and candidates in the local industry. In most states, the retail and commercial construction sector has been expanding, it’s within the building market that there is continued demand for engineering and construction professionals.
Across the job market CGC have witnessed the increased demand for engineers with niche and specialist skills. Whilst there is no hiding from the fact that the mining and resources industry has slowed and thus had an impact across all sectors the requirement for the top talent still continues.
Those global Australian companies are focusing on developing high-end work in Australia while getting their global offices to perform the more generalist and easy to perform duties. It’s in Australia where the innovation, the conceptual thinking, the smart thinking, the front-end, the high-end thinking will take place.
Of course the engineering vacancies differ from company to company, depending on specific projects and the particular stage those projects are at.
For up-to-date salary advice and opprotunites please speak to one of CGC’s specialist recruiters.
